@ knee jerk. Although the upper limit IQ for officers is 105, the target IQ is between 94-98. TheRead More average IQ of a U.S. citizen is 100. Whenever you are speaking to a police officer, you are most likely speaking to someone with an IQ considerably Lower than your own. Please remember to speak slowly, always try to limit the amount of syllables in each word to less than three, and try not to laugh... Cuz They get Really Paranoid. Must be the drugs.

These two don't appear to fit your stereotypical robbers. It looks like for them it was desperateRead More times call for desperate measures. I'd like to see more details as to motive to better prepare us all with what looks like a more frequent trend .

Does anything happen in Darien anymore?! I never see any articles about anything happening inRead More Darien, the Lion's Club pancake breakfast, the armed robberies at the gas stations, the 75th St. construction, city council budget, anything Darien related! How can you call this the Darien Patch when there is nothing about Darien in. Every other town or city has a Patch site that has articles related to their town. We get lazy editors who just copy and paste from other news sites.
Kelly O' March 30, 2014 at 06:17 pm
You don't have a lot of crime in Darien. Thank your lucky stars.

Actually, today (April 4th) she WAS fired. However, I find it a great example of ridiculous unionRead More rules that it took them this long to do so.

Arthur....the complaint about unions is that they defend employees such as her....she should haveRead More been fired the first time! She has people's lives in her hands....unions make it impossible to weed out bad employees...
Arthur Huff March 27, 2014 at 09:51 am
Deerfield, if it comes out that the union had a role in what happened in February being handled theRead More way it was then I'm right there with you. But we don't know that yet. All we know now is that the CTA handled it that way, we don't know why. For what it's worth, and I'm just pointing out facts for the sake of the discussion, in this crash and the one in New York it was a union official who told the press that the operator dozed off. Doesn't sound like they were trying to protect either of them, does it? In both of these cases they could just give us the standard "we are still trying to determine the cause blah blah blah" but in both cases they admitted right away that the driver was totally at fault. I'm not saying unions are perfect and don't obstruct weeding out bad employees, i.e teachers and tenure, but in this case we have no indication YET that it played a role.
Sue1 March 28, 2014 at 10:25 am
It would be interesting to get a copy of their contract. I would bet they have some sort ofRead More progressive discipline language in it, which would explain why she wasn't fired after the first incident.

To Scott: I was that poster, and what I suggested was that a punch in the chest could indicate thatRead More his intention was not to hurt, but to intimidate. Establishing intent is necessary to determine the degree of the crime. Assault (which is intimidation) and Battery (actually striking) or Murder? The guy was crazy, or he was freaking out for some reason. But he didn't sit on this mans chest beating the crap out of him. Why did the other victim, the one who died, have to confront him anyway? To get in his face, to defend his honor. Did he push this vulgar daughter chaser before the fatal pacemaker punch? This whole lot of people managed to turn all of themselves in to victims and any one of them could have stopped it.

T-H-E-O-R-I-T-I-C-A-L-L-Y-, nah///you'd nedd the hovercraft from the film WESTWORLD, starring YUL brinner, bu, yeah, the soviets have surface a(e)FFECT craft, but they rely on ocean moving current - - - COMR into THE chicao REGION unannounced, just the same{use the GARY/Chicago airport''in gARY (municipality) of THE STATE OF INDIANA", but, I DIGRESS, I never liked the quandaries the field of philosophy gives me!!!!!
