Sea of Red: Chicago Blackhawks Rally's Record-Breaking Turnout (PHOTOS)

Millions turned out Friday for the 2013 Stanley Cup Winning Chicago Blackhawks in what was a show of adoration that will surely go down in history.

While many Chicago residents were late for work Tuesday following the Blackhawks epic Stanley Cup Win, millions didn't clock in at all on Friday for what was reminiscent of a real life Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

More than 2 million people commandeered the streets of the downtown area, which were blocked off to all traffic for much of the day. A sea of red could be seen from all angles.

Black and white were peppered in, too, along with thousands who didn't let the 80-degree temperatures stop them from slipping into their favorite Blackhawks sweaters.

Refrains of "Chelsea Dagger" echoed through the streets leading up to the Grant Park rally and crowds could be heard chanting "MVP" as adored goalie Corey Crawford rolled on by.

Players were scattered atop various double-decker buses and confetti shot through the air.

"For the guys that were here in 2010, we didn't think there was a chance we could outmatch the performance by the fans, but you guys did somehow," team captain Jonathan Toews said, when he took the mic. "This shows how unbelievable this city is."
