Montessori School Coming to Montrose and Lincoln

The school hopes to open in the empty storefront early next year.

Last month we asked Patch readers what they'd like to see open in the empty space at the corner of Montrose, Lincoln and Leavitt. No one said a school, but it looks like that's what's coming.

DNAinfo reports that New Day Montessori, which operates schools in Naperville and Oswego, is hoping to open early next year. It has a five-year lease on the space, which the owner said was particularly attractive because of its proximity to Welles Park and the Sulzer Library.

The plan is to start with about 50-60 children from 3 to 6 year olds and then adding younger kids, DNAinfo reports.
