Amundsen Homecoming is Today: You're Invited!

The Vikings are hosting a pep rally and football game for this year's Homecoming.

Amundsen High School is alive with Homecoming spirit and all of Lincoln Square is invited.

Join the Vikings as they celebrate Homecoming with not just a football game, but also a pep rally and community night for the first time.

“We’re looking to improve our performance here at the school and a part of it is thinking about why kids come to school and part of that is the positive environment,” Activities Director Erik Olson said. “It’s just part of a high school tradition to have a homecoming festivity throughout the week.”

Olson, along with the Student Activities Committee, planned the festivities that include a pep rally with a parade of athletes and seniors around Jorndt Stadium.

The students raised money for Homecoming themselves, Olson said. Those running for the royalty court had to get recommendations from teachers and sell raffle tickets for Viking apparel. Olson said the tickets raised $2,200.

“The students are very engaged and happy; they can see the money going right back into the school,” he said.
