Man Accused of Child Porn Possession Dies Before Trial

Police arrested the Ravenswood resident and Andersonville business owner in March for reportedly having more than 2,500 images of child pornography.

In March, the Cook County Sheriff's office charged Seamus Webb, 51, with four felonies of disseminating and possessing child pornography. Police said the images included bestiality and bondage of minors.

Webb died in July, according to a funeral notice from the Mayo News, a newspaper in his hometown.

Cook County Sheriff’s Police Child Exploitation Unit found Webb in his apartment on the 1600 block of West Carmen Ave and arrested him without incident March 21.

Officers confiscated several computers and other items after Webb admitted the more than 2,500 images and videos were his, the sheriff's office said.
