Chase Park Community Garden Open for Registration

Interested in starting an herb or veggie garden? A local community garden is now accepting applications.

With temperatures dipping below freezing earlier this week, it’s hard to think about spring. But that doesn’t mean community gardens aren’t gearing up for planting season.

Montrose Green opened registration earlier in March, and now, residents can apply for plots in the Chase Park Community Garden, 4701 N. Ashland.

Applications will be accepted until April 5. On April 11, residents will be notified if they’ve received one of 27 plots.

Those interested need to fill out the Community Garden Plot Application on the Chicago Park District website. Once approved, gardeners will receive an email to continue with the plot reservation and pay a $25 fee.
