'Mother of all Mariano's Stores' Opens In Ravenswood

Ravenswood location is the biggest Mariano's store yet in Chicago, Milwaukee Business Journal reports.

The mother of all Mariano’s stores opened in Ravenwood on Tuesday at 1800 W. Lawrence Ave., making us forget all those sad Dominicks’ closings from last December.

The Milwaukee Business Journal reports that the massive 80,500-square-foot store is the largest Mariano’s yet to open in Chicago.

Parent company Roundy’s, based in Milwaukee, has been opening Mariano’s since 2010 in the Chicago area. The stores offer a wide array of perishables and prepared food, piano music, sushi, oyster bar and other upscale food dazzlements to get customers in the mood to browse for the toilet paper and peanut butter.

The Ravenswood store also offers the Mariano’s banner’s first Nob Wine Bar, which will feature live music, in addition to bringing 600 jobs to the local area.

Roundy's purchased 11 of the former Dominick's store in the Chicago area, four of which have already opened, the Milwaukee Business Journal reported.
