Turin Invites Cyclists to Grand Opening Weekend

The new Ravenswood bike store had been open for almost a month, and is holding an official celebration this weekend.

Nearly 50 years after opening their first shop in Chicago, Turin Bicycles has returned to the city and our own Ravenswood neighborhood.

The independent bike store at 4710 N. Damen Ave. has been unofficially open since mid-March, but now the community can celebrate its arrival.

Grand Opening Weekend will run from Friday at 2 p.m. until Sunday at 6 p.m. Owner Lee Katz and his staff have collected an exhibit of American artisan bikes from 1965 to the present, which will be on display over the weekend. Celebrities from the biking world like author Bill Humphreys (The Jersey Project) will be in attendance on Saturday to sign autographs.
