Fear not, procrastinators, eight stores in the area are staying open late on Sunday for last minute shopping.
Ravenswood shops Neighborly, Alapash, Hazel, Orange Beautiful, Amy's Candy Bar, Brew Camp, Ravensgoods, It's a Paws World and Lillstreet Art Center will be open until 8 p.m.
Many of the shops will also have bargains and specials, Neighborly’s Jenny Beorkrem said.
The concept started with Neighborly, the home goods store offshoot of Ork Posters. Beorkrem started a Holiday Pop-Up Shop with Ork that had good turnout on the day before Christmas Eve.
It’s that business that made her decision to keep Neighborly open late.
"I had talked with Emily (Martin) at Orange Beautiful a few times about doing some sort of shop crawl with shops nearby on Montrose and Damen,” Beorkrem said in an email to Patch. “She said she'd be interested in staying open late too and we thought we'd reach out to other shops in the area with gift-y goods.”
Shoppers will have a variety of goods in the participating stores, from candy to brew kids and antiques. All of the shops are located near Damen and Montrose avenues.
This holiday season is the first for Neighborly, which opened in November. Though the store has a selection of Ork Posters, they also carry products for kinds and a few pieces of furniture.
For gifts, Beorkrem recommends Nourishing Notes screen-printed tea towels for mom and a ceramic Aphrodite USB hub for a coworker.
