Bike Ravenswood: New Store to Hit Damen Avenue

Turin Bicycles, formerly located in Evanston, is moving into the neighborhood.

Come spring, Ravenswood bikers will have a new place to tune their wheels.

Turin Bicycles is moving to 4710 N. Damen Avenue, and will feature the company’s own products: bikes, apparel and bags.

Owner Lee Katz said he is looking for a March 1 open date.

Turin Bicycles was formerly located in Evanston. When Katz left the shop in May 2012, he took the name with him and the store became Ten 27 Cycles. That company closed in December and re-opened in November as Wheel and Sprocket.

Turin began in Chicago in 1965 by Alan Fine and Lee Katz, according to Bicycle Retailer. The shop will be their first city location outside of Denver, CO.
